Gene Ireland
Former Mercer County resident Gene L. Ireland, 69, of Bluffton, Ind., died at 2:45 p.m. Jan. 8, 2010, at his residence.
He was born Sept. 20, 1940, in Balbec, Ind., to Millard and Goldie Stephen Ireland.
Surviving are two daughters, Cathy Todd, Warsaw, Ind., and Patty (Gregg) Sorg, Muncie, Ind.; a son, Brent (Erin) Ireland, Lancaster, Pa.; a brother, Dean (Emma) Ireland, Bluffton; two sisters, Ramona McMaken, Birmingham, Mich., and Marlene (Ed) Risser, Bluffton; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Deceased is a son, Craig Lee Ireland.
He worked at B.F. Goodrich in Woodburn, Ind., for 21 years and at Corning Glass for 16 years.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Goodwin Memorial Chapel in Bluffton, the Rev. Patrick Harris officiating. Burial is at Fairview Cemetery in Bluffton.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. today and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the chapel.
