Jack Bowen
Jack K. Bowen, 78, of Rockford, died at 11:29 p.m. Dec. 28, 2009, at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne, Ind.
He was born Sept. 22, 1931, in Bluffton, Ind., to Lloyd and Justine Sawyer Bowen.
Surviving are a daughter, Pam K. Bowen, Mendon; and three sons, Scott (Barb) Bowen, Rockford, Bruce (Darla) Bowen, Kendallville, Ind., and Todd Bowen, Bradenton, Fla.
Deceased are two sisters, Betty Barringer and Marilyn Bowen; and four brothers, Don, Jerry, Jim and Max Bowen.
He worked at Aero Quip in Van Wert and owned three restaurants/bars in his life including the Pirate's Cove in Ligonier. He was a graduate of Bluffton High School and attended the First Christian Church, Rockford. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War.
Services are 1 p.m. Saturday at the Thoma/Rich, Chaney & Lemler Funeral Home, Bluffton, the Rev. Thomas Clothier officiating. Burial is at Fairview Cemetery, Bluffton.
Calling is one hour prior to service Saturday at the funeral home.
