Dorothy Bambauer
Former Kettlersville resident Dorothy Bambauer, 89, died at 5:30 a.m. Dec. 3, 2009, at Dorothy Love Retirement Community, Sidney.
She was born Jan. 17, 1920, in Auglaize County to William and Dora Schroer Schmidt. Following her parents' death, she was raised by George and Emma Schroer. On Aug. 14, 1940, she married Harold Bambauer, who died March 17, 1995.
Survivors are four children, Joyce (Larry) Engle, Bellefontaine, Richard Bambauer, Pemberton, Gary (Sharyn) Bambauer, Madison, Miss., and Paul (Teresa) Bambauer, New Knoxville; a sister, Wilma Lammers, New Knoxville; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are three brothers, Clarence, Elmer and Julius Schmidt; three sisters, Alice Lutz, Nelda Shaner and Salome Robins; and a daughter-in-law, Gretchen Bambauer.
She was a homemaker and assisted in the operation of the family farm. A 1940 graduate of New Knoxville High School, she was a member of the Immanuel United Church of Christ, Kettlersville, where she was a teacher and superintendent of Sunday school.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. Charles Moeller officiating. Burial is at Schwaberow Cemetery, near Kettlersville.
Calling is 2-7 p.m. Sunday at Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, St. Marys.
