Albert Heidlebaugh
Albert Dale Heidlebaugh, 92, of rural Spencerville, died at 7:45 p.m. Nov. 18, 2009, at Roselawn Manor Nursing Home, Spencerville, where he had resided since Oct. 6, 2009.
He was born Jan. 20, 1917, in Marion Township, Allen County, to Marion B. and Goldie Redd Heidlebaugh. On June 20, 1943, he married Dorothy K. Baxter, who died July 11, 2006.
Surviving are four children, Norman C. (Sondra) Heidlebaugh, Spencerville, Linda J. (Edward) Yahl, St. Marys, Susan K. Heidlebaugh, Cambridge, and Karen S. (Greg) Schwark, Spencerville; a sister, Alma (Melvin) Kloeppel, Delphos; seven grandchildren, a step-granddaughter; five great-grandchildren and a stepgreat-granddaughter.
Deceased are three siblings, William Heidlebaugh, Breta Buckles and Audrey Suever.
He attended one room schools and Delphos Jefferson High School. He was a farmer and worked with area farmers by custom combining and hay baling in the 1930's and the threshing rig days. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Spencerville and the Spencerville Grange and Farmers Union and was Wagon Master for the United Methodist Campers Association.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, The Rev. Jan Johnson officiating. Burial is at the Hartford Cemetery, Spencerville.
Calling is 3-8 p.m. Friday at the Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home, Spencerville and after 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the church.
