Harold Swartz
Harold F. "Jack" Swartz, 84, 16666 Kettlersville Road, Botkins, died at 7:50 a.m. on Nov. 15, 2009, at 7:50 a.m. at Heritage Manor Nursing Center, Minster.
He was born on December 16, 1924, in Upper Sandusky to John and Mary A. Lawrence Swartz. He was first married to Helen Hogen. In May of 1989, he married Doris Coil Poppe, who survives near Botkins.
Other survivors are a daughter, Jacqueline Kibler of Urbana; a son, Kim (Tammy) Swartz, Crestline; two stepchildren, Cheryl (Charles) Christman, Anna; and Richard Poppe, New Bremen; sisters, Buelah Hoerr, Upper Sandusky and Ruth Pieplow, Cleveland; a brother, Paul Swartz, Upper Sandusky; three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren and a stepgreat-grandchild.
Deceased are four sisters, Cora Larcomb, Ida Clark, Mary Bixler and Thelma Cook.
He formerly belonged to several fraternal organizations in the area. He was a foreman with the Carpenter's Local Union. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps serving during World War II where he was a gunner on a B-24.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family and burial will be in the Lima Memorial Park.
