Mary Link
Mary C. Link, 85, 2870 state Route 127, Celina died at 10:34 p.m. Oct. 24, 2009, at Mercer County Community Hospital.
She was born Oct. 6, 1924, in Fort Jennings to Joseph and Theresa Bensman Schlueter. On Aug. 30, 1952, she married Rudolph J. Link, who died March 28, 2006.
Surviving are a son, Marvin (Carol) Link, Golden Valley, Ariz.; two daughters, Karen Link, Coldwater, and Janice Webb, Mesquite, Texas; a sister, Rita Bettinger, St. Henry; brothers-in-law, Aloys (Cleopha) Link, and Lawrence (Wilma) Link, all of Fort Recovery, Elmer (Phyllis) Link and Lavern Wolters, all of Coldwater; sisters-in-law, Edna (Eugene) Reinhard, Plainfield, Ind., Marilyn (Eugene) Fullenkamp, Decatur, Ind., Sister Adelaide Link, Cincinnati, Mildred Selhorst, Coldwater, Ludwig (Delores) Wuebker, Carthagena; 15 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Deceased is a brother, Vincent Schlueter.
She was a practical nurse who graduated from Good Samaritan Hospital, Cincinnati. In 1950, she was on the first nursing staff at Coldwater Community Hospital, then known as Our Lady of Mercy. She went on to St. Charles Infirmary at Carthagena for four years and also worked at the former Ben Franklin Store in Coldwater for eight and one-half years. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, and its St. Monica Ladies Sodality, St. Ann's Rosary Altar Sodality and a Eucharistic minister of the church, past president of St. Rochus Knights of St. John Ladies Auxiliary, Maria Stein, uniform group and its first drill team, Coldwater Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, volunteered in Coldwater Community Hospital, an avid Rosary maker and worked with the mission call.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church, the Rev. Barry Stechschulte officiating. Burial is at St. Aloysius Cemetery, Carthagena.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Thursday and 9-10 a.m. Friday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.
