Donald Hierholzer
Donald J. Hierholzer, 88, of 805 W. Vine St., Coldwater died at 11:20 p.m. Sept. 21, 2009, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.
He was born Aug. 4, 1921, in Coldwater to Anthony and Leona Myer Hierholzer. On Aug. 31, 1945, he married Faye Arnett who died May 26, 1981. On October 28, 1989, he married Irma Monroe Vagedes, who survives.
Also surviving are his children: Cheryl (Leon) Bergman, Maria Stein, and Karen (Alfred) Dirksen, Union City; four stepchildren, Mike (Mary) Vagedes, Tipp City, John (Bonnie) Vagedes, Ft. Loramie, Rich (Betty Jo) Vagedes, Peru, Ind. and Deb Anderson, Jamestown, Tenn.; nine grandchildren, nine stepgrandchildren, 12 great- grandchildren, 11 stepgreat-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Deceased are a son James Hierholzer; and a brother, Anthony Hierholzer.
He retired as a foreman from the former Pet Milk, Inc. after 42 years. He attended Holy Trinity Catholic Church, the Men's Holy Name of the church and the Fraternal Order of Eagles ,Coldwater.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church, the Rev. Barry Stechschulte officiating. Burial is at St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Thursday and 9-10 a.m. Friday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.
