* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:40 AM EDT Sunday the stage was 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall slowly this afternoon, falling below flood stage later this evening. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

Work is supposed to begin today on the state Route 118 bridge just north of Rockford, which is being funded through government stimulus money. The road will be closed until Oct. 15 as the bridge is painted.
