Hilda Steinke
Hilda Ann Steinke, 87, formerly of Taft Street, Sidney, died at 8 a.m. Aug. 16, 2009, at Heritage Manor Nursing Center, Minster, where she had resided for five years.
She was born June 26, 1922, in St. Sebastian to John and Cecelia Holdheide Broering. On Oct. 8, 1943, she married Charles "Budd" Steinke, who died Oct. 24, 1998.
Surviving are a brother, Leander Broering, San Rafael, Calif.; three sisters, Dorothy Boeckman, and Rita (Norb) Hoehne, both of Fort Loramie, and Micky Mescher, Tipp City.
Deceased are two brothers, Ambrose and Linus Broering; and two sisters, Marie Seger and Mildred Artcamp; three infant brothers, three sisters-in-law and four brothers-in-law.
She was a homemaker and caregiver and had worked at L and K Restaurant, Sidney. She was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church, Sidney.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church, the Rev. Dan Schmitmeyer officiating. Burial is at Shelby Memory Gardens, Sidney.
Calling is 9-10 a.m. Thursday at Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home, Sidney.
Contributions can be made to the church or the activity fund at Heritage Manor Nursing Center, Minster.
