Leona Wendel
Leona E. Wendel, 91, Wendelin, died at 2:20 a.m. July 31, 2009, at Briarwood Village, Coldwater.
She was born Aug. 18, 1917, in Coldwater to Charles and Henrietta Bruggeman Selhorst. On May 18, 1940, she married Adolph Wendel, who died April 25, 2000.
Surviving are two sons, Larry (Cathy) Wendel, St. Henry, and Ronny Wendel, Coldwater; a daughter, Rose Ann (Ernie) Rohrer, Fort Recovery; two sisters-in-law, Mildred Selhorst and Waveline Selhorst, both of Coldwater; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two brothers, Jerome and Herbert Selhorst; a sister, Esther Post; a brother-in-law, Eugene Post; and a grandchild.
She was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Wendelin, and its Altar-Rossary Sodality.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. Tom Hemm officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Sunday and 9-9:45 a.m. Monday at Brockman-Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery.
