Anthony MacKenzie
Anthony P. Mackenzie, 18, 1110 W. Spring St., St. Marys, died at approximately 5:45 a.m. June 29, 2009, at the scene of a single car accident near Tri-Township Road and Southland Road in Auglaize County.
He was born Oct. 25, 1990, in Dayton, to Mike MacKenzie and Julie Ross, who both survive in St. Marys.
Other survivors are a brother, Alex Mackenzie, St. Marys; grandparents, Paul (Shirley) Ross, and Chauncey, and Robert (Carolyn) Mackenzie, Dayton.
He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, St. Marys, and attended Dayton Queen of Martyrs and St. Marys Holy Rosary elementary schools. He was a 2009 graduate of Memorial High School St. Marys, where his course work included the Tri Star Computer Networking program, a field of study he was set to begin next year at Rhodes State College in Lima. He worked at K-Mart, St. Marys, as a cashier. He participated in CYO basketball, club soccer and was on the bowling and tennis teams at MHS. He had battled cystic fibrosis all his life.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at Wayne Street Methodist Church, the Rev. Steve Weatherly officiating. Burial is at Gethsemane Cemetery, with interment blessing by Rev. Anthony Cutcher.
Memorial Mass is 2 p.m. July 19, 2009, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, the Rev. Anthony Cutcher officiating.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys.
