* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:40 PM EDT Sunday the stage was 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.0 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

Freedus McDermitt
Freedus A. McDermitt, 91, of 21099 St. Marys River Road, Spencerville, died at 4:30 a.m. April 21, 2009, at The Gardens of Wapakoneta.
He was born June 16, 1917, in Glynwood, to Elroy and Onis Craft McDermitt. On Nov. 30, 1940, he married Mildred Howell, who died Aug. 10, 2003.
Surviving are six children, Ruth (Garry) Schwartz, Spencerville, Mary (Robert) Howell, Wapakoneta, Charles (Karen) McDermitt, Stockbridge, Ga., Judy (Richard) Howell, Yorktown, Ind., Freedus (Deborah) McDermitt Jr., St. Marys, Jean (Floyd) Sheaks, St. Marys; two sisters, Ruth Howell, Cridersville, and Dorothy Wilkins, St. Marys; two brothers, Bob (Linda) McDermitt and Norman (Hyla) McDermitt, all of St. Marys; 23 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two brothers, Guy and Joseph McDermitt; and three sisters, Margaret Wehnes, Evelyn Wheeler and Betty Rumpff.
He was a retired farmer and worked at the former Weston Paper Mill, St. Marys, and Bio-Tek, Spencerville. He attended Walnut Grove Methodist Church. He owned and operated a vegetable truck patch for many years and sold produce to area grocers.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at the Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. Mary Kay Brown officiating. Burial is at Elm Grove Cemetery.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
