John Powell
John Allen Powell, 61, 121 Leona St., Celina, died at 4:20 p.m. March 31, 2009, at his residence. Death was due to natural causes.
He was born July 17, 1947, in Celina to Glen and Marie Froning Powell. His mother survives in Coldwater. On Aug. 7, 1971, he married Wanda Waterman, who survives.
Other survivors are a son, John Powell, Cincinnati; five brothers, Gene Powell and Brian Powell, all of Coldwater, Dennis (Jennifer) Powell, and Larry Powell, all of Columbus, and Mike (Kathy) Powell, Celina; four sisters, Dorothy (Bill) Puthoff, Chickasaw, Lisa (Jeff) Kremer, Lora (Roger) Wellman and Sandy (Dan) Feltz, all of Coldwater; a father-in-law, Victor Waterman, St. Marys; and four grandchildren.
Deceased is a mother-in-law, Lois Anderson Waterman.
He worked as a delivery driver for the former Spicer Dairy and for McKirnan Brothers Vending, Celina. He had retired as a salesman from Kerns Fireplace in Celina. He attended Coldwater High School.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Joe Arata officiating. Burial is at Swamp College Cemetery, Celina.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
