Margaret Benanzer
Margaret Benanzer, 85, of Greenville, died March 2, 2009, at her residence.
She was born March 22, 1923, in Fort Recovery to Clem R. and Teresa Rammel Eckstein. On Feb. 2, 1946, she married Clarence Benanzer, who died July 18, 1996.
Surviving are six daughters and four sons, Elizabeth, Ann Arbor, Mich., Mary Shrader, Greenville, John (Jane Cocran), St. Marys, Rose, Greenville, Jane Thompson, Greenville, Ed, Oklahoma City, Okla., Rene (John) Shives, Greenville, Connie (Ted) Ackley, Piqua, Andy, Dayton, and Chuck (Cassy Pucett), Greenville; four sisters and three brothers; Cleopha Brunswick, St. Henry, Clarence (Bert) Eckstein, Celina, Hilda (Clete) Niekamp, New Bremen, Gene (Joan) Eckstein, Coldwater, Irene Mowen, New Bremen, Clem (Eileen) Eckstein, Greenville, and Teresa (Bill) Bowersock, Spencerville; two sisters-in-law, Millie Eckstein, New Paris, and Magdelina Eyink, Coldwater; a brother-in-law, Bill Benanzer, Coldwater; 22 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, a stepgrandchild; seven stepgreat-grandchildren and two stepgreat-great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two brothers, Lee and Herman Eckstein; a sister, Imelda Keller; three brothers-in-law, Joe Brunswick, Scott Mowen and Ray Eyink; and a sister-in-law, Alice Benanzer.
She was a homemaker and helped her husband with farms in Mercer and Darke counties. Before her marriage, she provided care for over twenty-five newborns and their families at their homes.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at Faith Tabernacle (New Life Pentecostal) Church, Greenville, the Rev. William Zink officiating. Burial is at St. Mary's Church Cemetery, Greenville.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Thursday and 9-10 a.m. Friday at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville.
