Luke Rose
Luke B. Rose, 87, 1320 Philothea Road, Fort Recovery, died Feb. 12, 2009, at 5:25 p.m. at his residence.
He was born Jan. 4, 1922, in St. Henry to Roman and Marie Leistenschneider Rose. On Oct. 17, 1975, he was married in St. Peter to Edna L. Weitzel Rammel, who survives.
Also surviving is a daughter, Shirley (Eugene) Crouch, Celina; a son, Jerry (Sharon), Burkettsville; three step-daughters, Bernice (Clete) Nietfeld, Fort Recovery, Helen (James) Steinlage and Diane (James) Uhlenhake, all of St. Henry; four step-sons, Jim (Jane) Rammel, Ralph (Bonnie) Rammel, Dave (Kim) Rammel and Roger (Marilyn) Rammel, all of Fort Recovery; three sisters, Berdella (Leonard) Hemmelgarn, St. Henry; Regina (Elmer) Hemmelgarn, Russia, and Rita (John) Schmitmeyer, Coldwater; three brothers, Carl (Lucy) Rose, St. Anthony; Joe (Donna) Rose, Coldwater, and Fred (Irene) Rose, St. Henry; a brother-in-law, John Hake, Eaton; and three sisters-in-law, Margaret Rose and Juneta Rose, both of Dayton, and Margie Rose, Coldwater; eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 18 step-grandchildren, 24 step-great-grandchildren, one step-great-great-grandchild.
Deceased is a grandchild, a step-grandchild, two twin step-great-grandchildren, three brothers, Herman, Paul and Alfred and a sister, Eleanor Hake.
A graduate of St. Henry High School, he was a retired farmer and had worked as a carpenter. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, St. Peter, and the Holy Name Society of the church.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. Thomas Dorn officiating. Burial is at St. Peter Cemetery, St. Peter.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Sunday and Monday from 9-9:45 a.m. at Brockman-Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery.
Contributions can be made to State of the Heart Hospice or Cancer Association of Mercer County.
