Verna Geise
Verna Marie Geise, 86, 329 Williams St., Sidney, died at 3:45 p.m. Feb. 8, 2009, at Heartland of Piqua.
She was born Aug. 8, 1922, in Sidney, to Andrew and Josephine Seger Larger. On Aug. 5, 1948, she married Lester H. Geise, who died May 11, 2000.
Surviving are three sons, Timothy (Marla), Mark (Deb) and Steven (Julie) all of Sidney; a brother Carl (Helen) Larger, Wapakoneta; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Deceased is a sister, Mildred Geise; and a brother, Adrian Larger.
She had worked at the former Bank One, Inc., Sidney, now Chase Bank, as a branch manager. She had also been a representative at Dorothy Love Retirement Community in Sidney, and for First National Bank, New Bremen. She was a member of the Democratic Women's Association, the Sidney American Legion Auxiliary, the Women of the Sidney Moose, was active in the Sidney Senior Center and a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church, Sidney, where she served as a parish picnic volunteer.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church, the Rev. Jason Bedel officiating. Burial is at Graceland Cemetery, Sidney.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Cromes Funeral Home, Sidney, where a memorial service will be conducted at 7:45 p.m. by the American Legion Auxiliary.
