Mary Ann Vehorn
Former Clayton resident Mary Ann Vehorn, 89, of Troy, died at 1:36 a.m. Jan. 18, 2009, at Koester Pavilion, Troy.
She was born Nov. 1, 1919, in Maria Stein, to Anthony and Josephine Dahlinghaus Heitbrink. On Aug. 7, 1948, she married James Vehorn, who died Jan. 1, 2003.
Surviving are two sons, Dave, Colman, S.C., and Dale, Ludlow Falls; three daughters, Jan Connors, West Milton, Sarah Bergman, Maria Stein, and Joan Layne, Clayton; a brother, Tom Heitbrink, Chickasaw; a sister, Lorena Vagades, Fort Recovery; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Deceased are three brothers, Cletus, Harold and Cornelius Heitbrink; a sister, Isabel Heuker; and a grandson.
She was a homemaker and retired from Sears. She was a member of the Transfiguration Catholic Church, West Milton, the Elkettes of Dayton and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. John MacQuarrie officiating. Burial is at Miami Memorial Park, Covington.
Calling is 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Hale-Sarver Funeral Home, West Milton.
