Gary Liette
Gary L. Liette, 61, 02561 Greenville Road, St. Marys, died at 10:26 p.m. Jan. 5, 2009, in the emergency department at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys, following a sudden illness.
He was born Aug. 29, 1947, in Celina, to Norbert and Marcella "Sally" Borgert Liette. On Feb. 14, 1998, he married Susan Kay McKinney, who survives.
Other survivors are a son, Denny, St. Marys; two daughters, Marcy (Dan) Wietholter, St. Marys, and Cindy (Luke) Wolfe, Coldwater; two stepsons, Christopher (Shawnda) Cain, Fort Wayne, Ind., and Shawn McKinney, Los Angeles, Ind.; a stepdaughter, Nicole (Jamey) Wycuff, St. Marys; a brother, David (Nancy), St. Marys; a sister-in-law, Maureen (Mark) Liette-Franzer, St. Marys; a mother-in-law, Barbara Braun, Monroe, Ind.; and five grandchildren.
Deceased are a brother, Roger; and a father-in-law, Richard Braun.
He was a farmer and 1965 graduate of Memorial High School, St. Marys. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and the Fraternal Order of Eagles, both of St. Marys, and the American Trapshooters' Association. He also was a member of Ducks Unlimited and Pheasants Forever.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. Anthony E. Cutcher officiating. Burial is at Gethsemane Cemetery, St. Marys.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Friday and 9-10 a.m. Saturday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys.
