Charles Middendorf
Charles "Carl" A. Middendorf, 70, Loy Road, Fort Loramie, died Dec. 11, 2008, at home.
He was born Dec. 12, 1937, in Fort Loramie to Charles T. and Agnes S. Meyer Middendorf. On May 22, 1957, he married Norma M. Schulze, who survives.
Also surviving are eight children, Charles J. "Chuck" (Janet), Kelly Milligan, Kathleen (Randy) May and Mitchell (Carrie), all of Fort Loramie, Kevin (Paula), Gibson City, Ill., Theresa (John) Bartok and Andrew (Jennifer), all of Worthington, and Maria (Mike) York, Russia; two brothers, Richard and Max, both of Fort Loramie; 27 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a brother, Arthur; a sister-in-law, Erma; and granddaughter.
He retired in 1996 from the former Middendorf Stockyards, which he and his brothers owned and transformed into Producers Livestock. He was a member of Newport Sportsman Club, past president of Independent Livestock Marketing Association and past member of the Sidney Moose Lodge and former Fort Loramie Kiwanis. He was a 1955 graduate of Fort Loramie High School. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Fort Loramie.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. Steven Shoup officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Sunday and 9-10 a.m. Monday at Gehret Funeral Home, Fort Loramie.
