John Ball
John "Jack" Ball, 77, 302 S. Pear St., St. Marys, died at 4:51 p.m. Nov. 14, 2008, at the Ohio State University Hospital, Columbus.
He was born Feb. 27, 1931, in Franklin, to John and Rose Winker Ball. On Jan. 16, 1954, he married Grace Brotherwood, who survives.
Other survivors are nine children, John (Jodie),Theresa (John) Holsinger, Tim (Julie), Dale (Debbie), Lisa (Tim) Manson, Kathy (Todd) Wint, all of St. Marys, Becky, Wapakoneta, Belinda (Joe) Nuttle, Van Wert, and Sandra (Allen) Hesse, Mendon; a brother, Raymond (Jean), St. Marys; two sisters, Rachel Stienecker, and Ramona (Jim) Moore, all St. Marys; 32 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a son, Leroy; two sisters, Pat Lehman and Harriett Young; and two grandsons.
He retired from the Ford Motor Company in Lima, and was a member of St. Marys Missionary Baptist Church, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Fraternal Order of Eagles, both in St. Marys, and a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War.
Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. Alva Daniels officiating. Burial with military rites is at Resthaven Memory Gardens near St. Marys.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
