Robert Poly
Versailles and Sebring, Fla., resident Robert C. "Bob" Poly, 70, died at 4:07 a.m. Nov. 9, 2008, at Wilson Memorial Hospital, Sidney.
He was born Nov. 23, 1937, in Versailles, to Clarence "Bud" and Lenora Curl Poly. On Sept. 25, 1965, he married his former wife, Lois Thiebeau, who survives in St. Marys.
Other survivors are two sons, Anthony R., Dayton, and William J., Hopkins, S.C.; a daughter, Jill A. (Anthony) Siegel, Fort Loramie; and six grandchildren.
Deceased is a sister, Loretta Delaplane.
He worked as a Thermoking mechanic at the former Subler Transfer Inc. and Carl Subler Trucking Inc., both in Versailles, and at the former Berberich Refrigeration, Dayton. He was owner-operator of Bob's Heating and Air Conditioning, Versailles, from 1981 until his retirement. He was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church, Versailles, and attended St. Catherine Catholic Church, Sebring. He was a 1956 graduate of Versailles High School and a U.S. Navy veteran stationed in Pensacola, Fla.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Denis Catholic Church, Versailles, the Rev. David Vincent officiating. Burial is at a later date at St. Valbert's Cemetery, Versailles.
Calling is 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home, Versailles.
