Trio arrested for attempted breaking and entering

Three Celina residents were scheduled to appear in Celina Municipal Court Friday on misdemeanor charges stemming from an attempted breaking and entering early Thursday morning at a Coldwater business.
Patrolman Kyle Dues noted suspicious activity shortly after midnight in the parking lot at Dairy Land, 509 N. Second St. He stopped a car leaving the rear of the business and an ensuing investigation revealed someone had attempted to forcibly enter the business.
The three occupants were taken into custody with the driver Brant Bullock, 20, 115 S. Elm St., charged with attempted breaking and entering. Passengers Talon Parker, 18, 5528 Fleetfoot Road, and Dustin Abrahamson, 19, 9582 U.S. 127, face similar charges as well as one count each of possessing criminal tools.
Police Chief Randy Waltmire said it did not appear the trio gained entry as nothing inside had been disturbed.
Mercer County Sheriff's deputies assisted at the scene and in transporting the trio to the Mercer County Jail.
Police continue to investigate an earlier breaking and entering at South Side Inn, 490 S. Second St., after being called to the scene shortly after 6:30 p.m. Sept. 6. An unknown person broke a kitchen window to gain entry and left with an undisclosed amount of cash.
