John Lockhart
John W. Lockhart, 64, 906 Kimberly Drive, St. Marys, died at 7:13 a.m. Sept. 2, 2008, in the emergency department of Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys. Death was due to an apparent heart attack.
He was born Dec. 30, 1943, in Peru, Ind., to Byron and Vera Rust Lockhart. On June 1, 1968, he married Patricia Ann Paddock, who survives at the residence.
Other survivors are a daughter, Natasha (Andrew) Catlin, Bay Village; three sisters, Elinor Bettis, Glen Gardner, N.J., Jane Hagendorf, East Hanover, N.J., and Joan (Stan) Williams, Tipton, Ind.; a mother-in-law, Helen Paddock, Yorktown, Ind.; and two grandchildren.
Deceased is a father-in-law, Durward Paddock.
He retired from the former Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, St. Marys, where he had worked as a development engineer, and he also farmed. He was a 1961 graduate of Eastern High School, Greentown, Ind., and a 1966 graduate of Purdue University.
Services are 2 p.m. Saturday at the Converse Church of Christ, Converse, Ind., the Rev. Rob Schwarze officiating. Burial is at Greenlawn Cemetery, Greentown.
Calling is 4-7 p.m. Friday at the Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys, and Saturday one hour prior to service at the church.
Contributions can be made to the Thomas Howard Scholarship Fund.
