Could allow ethanol plant construction near Celina

Mercer County commissioners this morning voted to increase the height limitation for industrial structures in East Jefferson Township from 45 to 125 feet - an action that is expected to anger some residents and clear a path for the construction of a proposed ethanol plant. [More]

Minster Machine Company plans to expand its local facility and create 140 full-time jobs as it enters the wind energy industry, according to a press release issued this morning from the Ohio Department of Development.
The release says the company was approved for a 55 percent, seven-year tax credit from the Ohio Tax Credit Authority for the $4.4 million investment. This would save the company $690,296 in taxes over the term. [More]
