Seranus Seitz
Seranus V. "Si" Seitz, 91, of Coldwater, died at 7:30 p.m. June 22, 2008, at his residence.
He was born on Feb. 7, 1917, in Cranberry Prairie, to John and Clara Steinbrunner Seitz. On June 15, 1946, he married Dolores Huelsman at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Dayton and she survives.
  Other survivors are two sons, John (Ginny), Celina, Jim, Atlanta, Ga.; four daughters, Shirley Seitz and Cindy Walling, all of West Milton, Vicki (Phil) Sims, and Mary (Tony) Stammen all of Coldwater; a brother Jack (Betty), Seitz, Kettering; a sister Ginny Dixon of Houstonville, Ky., a brother-in-law Clarence Gels, Chicago, Ill., and two sisters-in-law, Buff and Margie Seitz, both of Dayton, nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Deceased are five brothers: Curly, Pete, Bob, Luke and Art Seitz; three sisters, Alma Gels, Helen Harris and Esther "Boozie" Bir; and a brother-in-law Eddie Dixon.
  He founded Buckeye Sheet Metal, in New Carlisle in 1946, Central Heating & Plumbing in Coldwater in 1948 and later founded Central Soft Water and Superior Water Service, both of Coldwater. He retired in 1997. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Fraternal Order of Eagles, the American Legion, and the Knights of Columbus all in Coldwater, and a member of the Mercer County Benevolent & Protective Order of Elks. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church, the Rev. Daniel Schmitmeyer officiating.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and 9-10 a.m. Thursday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater. Burial is at St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater, where military rites will be conducted.
