St. Henry Local Schools sixth-graders, from left, Shelby Gelhaus, Alyssa Mescher and Olivia Stahl, discuss the mortar they created to make a small wall during Science, Technology, Engineering, Math (STEM) Camp this week at school. The students were asked to experiment mixing clay, sand and soil to find out which combination of properties makes a more sturdy wall. New Bremen and Fort Recovery schools, along with St. Henry, also received grant money for engineering-based educational activities and will host their own camps next week, according to Kim Nellis, director of student services, and fifth-grade science teacher Kathy Naseman, both of St. Henry schools.
