Edward Nerderman
Edward E. Nerderman, 90, formerly of St. Henry, died at 2 p.m. May 23, 2008, at Celina Manor Nursing Home.
He was born Sept. 2, 1917, in Carthagena to Phillip and Rosa Wilker Nerderman. On Oct. 26, 1946, he married Henrietta Frilling, who died Oct. 15, 2000.
Surviving are four sons, Dennis (Rose Marie), Centerville, Peach (Chris), Minster, Mark (Joan), New Albany, and Stan (Renee), Kirkland, one daughter, Anita (Dave) Hemmelgarn, St. Henry; a nephew raised by the family, Larry Frilling, Union City, Tenn.; 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Deceased are three brothers, Julius, Herman and Urban "Dick," and one sister, Ludwina Evers-Bertke.
He previously worked for Mercer Landmark. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, receiving the Purple Heart. He was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church and its Men's Sodality and St. Henry American Legion.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Henry Catholic Church, the Rev. Tony Fortman officiating. Burial is at St. Henry Cemetery with graveside military services by the St. Henry Firing Squad.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Monday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, St. Henry, and 9-10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
