Rev. John Ramsey
The Rev. John E. Ramsey, 58, 802 W. Jackson St., St. Marys, died at 3:58 p.m. May 8, 2008, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima, following a brief illness.
He was born March 23, 1950, in Celina, to John and Marvel McMullen Ramsey. On Aug. 1, 1981, he married Cindy Goodwin, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, John of Van Wert; two daughters, Felicia of Lima and Stacey of Van Wert; a stepson, Roy Goodwin, St. Marys,; a brother, Ronnie of Van Wert and 10 grandchildren.
Ramsey, a disc jockey who went by the names "Mad Jack" and "John Edwards," worked at radio stations WKKI, WIMT (T-102) WAXC and WCSM in Northwest Ohio and Froggy 94 in Tennessee. A graduate of Bible College of Hope Sound in Florida and Dayton International Broadcasting College, he was an ordained minister and a local musician. He also was the drummer, guitarist and singer with Rock Creek Band for more than 20 years and performed with Jess King and Country Gospel for many years. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.
Services are 11 a.m. Monday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. Glenn Masser officiating. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
