Naomi Howe
Naomi B. Howe, 87, of 305 South East St., New Knoxville, died at 6:30 a.m. March 10, 2008, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys.
She was born April 18, 1920, in New Knoxville, to August and Bertha Duhme Prueter. On March 23, 1940, she married Donald Howe, who died Oct. 5, 1999.
Survivors are four sons, Thomas (Sally), Troy, Dennis (Marilyn), Dayton, Ned and Ted, both of New Knoxville; a daughter, Joyce Howe, New Knoxville; two brothers, Elwood (Jean) Prueter and Don Prueter, all of New Knoxville; two sisters Nancy (Wayne) Bambauer and Irma (Ralph) Hoelscher, all of New Knoxville; 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two sons Danny and Larry; three brothers, Earl, Paul, and Jim Prueter; a sister, Ruby May; a grandson and a great-granddaughter.
She retired from the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in St. Marys, and was a member of the first graduating class of New Knoxville High School in 1939. She was a member of the First United Church of Christ, New Knoxville, and attended the V.E. Katterheinrich Sunday School Class.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church, the Rev. David Williams officiating. Burial is at German Protestant Cemetery, New Bremen.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, in the Heritage Room of the church.
Contributions can be made to the church.
Arrangements are being handled by Vornholt-Miller Funeral Home, New Knoxville.
