The Blizzard of 1978 went down in history as the most brutal winter blast Mother Nature ever threw at the Buckeye state.

COLDWATER - There's an old sports bromide stating that any league win on the road is a good one, and the Marion Local Flyers will certainly attest to that after Friday night.
Marion didn't exactly put on a textbook display of fundamental basketball, but it did just enough to stay unbeaten in the Midwest Athletic Conference with a 47-39 win over the Coldwater Cavaliers at The Palace. [More]

The city of Celina will soon begin applying for federal grants and state money to fund construction of a $6 million system that would allow for perpetual dredging of the northwest side of Grand Lake and perhaps other parts of the lake in the future.
Former Celina resident Dennis "Denny" Howell remains in critical condition after a pickup truck landed on top of his SUV during a Jan. 18 accident in Champaign County.
ELIDA - A pair of 4-10 teams met on Friday night at the Elida Fieldhouse and with the two teams having identical records, a close outcome was what the fans expected to see.
ROCKFORD - Going into the overtime session, things looked up for New Bremen.
The Cardinals outscored Parkway 10-2 over the final 2:45 of the fourth quarter and held a 56-54 lead with 48 seconds left. Only a driving basket from Josh Fisher with 20 seconds left allowed Parkway to force overtime.
MINSTER - The St. Henry Redskins stared downed adversity, using a big second half to rally from a 10-point first-half hole and came home with a big 58-50 Midwest Athletic Conference road win over the Minster Wildcats Friday at the Minster Middle School.

A halftime lead for St. Marys evaporated in the third quarter as Van Wert came back, then held off a Roughriders charge to post a 42-36 win at the Cougar Den on Friday in Western Buckeye League action.
