Versailles' Raterman grabs top individual MAC volleyball honor

Versailles' Justine Raterman was rewarded for a strong senior season by being named the Midwest Athletic Conference's Volleyball Player of the Year by the conference coaches during their selection meeting for all-conference honors.
The 6-2 middle hitter/setter was fourth in the Grand Lake area with 3.75 kills per game and led the area with 2.23 blocks per game. Raterman was also recording 4.48 assists per game for the Tigers, who finished 22-2 and 7-2 in the MAC this season.
Marion Local, winning its first conference title in over 20 years, placed three players on the all-MAC first team with seniors Abby Niekamp, Megan Barhorst and Kristin Bergman.
Flyers coach Amy Steininger earned the MAC Coach of the Year award that goes to the conference champ's coach.
In addition to Raterman, Versailles was represented by Emily Bohman on the first team. New Bremen, 6-3 in conference play, also had two players on the first team with Taylor Jones and Jaclyn Dabbelt.
