Gene Hart
Gene Amelda Hart, 82, of St. Marys, died at 10:35 a.m. Sept. 26, 2007, at Otterbein Retirement Community, St. Marys.
She was born May 31, 1925, in Green Springs to Leander D. and Leona M. Lawson Mennell. On June 12, 1948, she married Townsend Elliot Hart, who died June 7, 2004.
Survivors are three sons, Roy E. (Jane), Lancaster, Russell D. (Debbie), Divide, Colo., and Paul, Fort Collins, Colo.; and two grandchildren.
Deceased are two brothers, Jay and Dale Mennell.
She was an English teacher in the Cleveland Public Schools district and co-owned with her husband the P&J Variety Store in Conneaut. She was a graduate of Lakewood High School and the Mather College of Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, and was a member of Wayne Street United Methodist Church, St. Marys, and Lions Clubs International.
Services are 10 a.m. Saturday at the Meyer Community Chapel of Otterbein, the Rev. Carol Sainey officiating. Burial is at Riverside Cemetery, Cleveland.
There are no calling hours.
Contributions can be made to the benevolent care fund at Otterbein, St. Marys
