Flyers win big; Missed PAT haunts St. Henry

It didn't take long for Marion Local to put its game with Versailles safely in the win column.
The Flyers scored 21 points in the first quarter, then added 14 in the second en route to a 56-13 drubbing of the Tigers at Hole Field in the 62nd meeting between the teams.
Marion, the top team in Division V, goes to 6-0 overall and 5-0 in the Midwest Athletic Conference as the Tigers drop to 1-5 on the season and 1-4 in the league.
Marion Local compiled 510 yards of offense on just 40 plays. Thirty of the plays were running plays, totaling 327 yards on the ground.
Ben Schaefer carried the ball just 10 times for 127 yards and scored two touchdowns. Ben Smith saw plenty of second-half time, adding 104 yards on 13 carries and also scoring twice. Chris Stucke and Luke Homan each added touchdown runs.
Stucke was 5-of-9 passing for 94 yards and threw two touchdowns. Marcus Moeller snagged both of Stucke's touchdown passes and finished with 118 yards receiving.
Shawn Winner led the Tigers in rushing with 51 yards and a touchdown while Jon Murphy added 42 yards and scored the other Versailles touchdown.
Marion returns home Friday to face 4-2 Fort Recovery while Versailles heads to New Bremen to face the 1-5 Cardinals.
Anna 28, St. Henry 27 (2OT)
A missed extra point came back to haunt St. Henry as Anna scored a touchdown and nailed the PAT in the second overtime to get the win over the Redskins.
Anna improves to 5-1 overall and 4-1 in the MAC as the Redskins drop to 3-3 on the season and 2-3 in league play.
St. Henry trailed 14-7 at the half, but tied things up in the third quarter as Brent Prenger scored from 12 yards out to tie the game. Neither team scored in the fourth quarter to send the game into overtime.
In the first round, Anna jumped out as Zach Clark snagged a 15-yard pass from Wes Hunsucker to make it 21-14. St. Henry came back and tied things up on Prenger's five-yard run with the extra point going through to send it to a second round of overtime.
The Redskins got the ball first and scored when Brad Stahl ran it in from nine yards out. The extra point, however, missed.
Anna took the ball and scored on Danny Stewart's nine-yard run and Clark nailed the PAT to end the game.
The loss spoiled a big night for Prenger, who carried 36 times for 179 yards to go along with four touchdowns.
In addition to his four PATs, Clark had two touchdown receptions from Hunsucker. Chance Guisinger added a touchdown in the first quarter.
Anna travels to Delphos to play St. John's on Friday while St. Henry returns home to face 4-2 Parkway.
