Ruth E. Wine
Ruth E. Wine, 81, 237 Candlewood Place, St. Marys, died 11:29 p.m. Sept. 27, 2007 at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.
She was born on Feb. 9, 1926 in Cincinnati, to Herman C. and Ocia (Apple) Watson. On June 1, 1948, She married John C. Wine, who survives at the residence.
Also surviving are four sons, David (Donna), Bourbonnais, Ill., Daniel (Cindy), White Lake, Mich., Dale (Linda), Cincinnati, and Douglas (Clarinda), St. Marys; two brothers, Luther (Billie) Watson, Nashville, Tenn., and Roy (Juanita) Watson, Lebanon; a sister, Violet (James) Weeks, Nashville, Tenn.; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was a retired teacher, instructing at schools in Bryant, Ind. and St. Marys. She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene, St. Marys, where she served as the pianist and as the adult Sunday school teacher for 40 years. She was a founding board member of the Agape Ministries and involved in the music club.
She was a 1944 graduate of Walbridge High School. She earned her undergraduate degree from Olivet Nazarene College in 1948 and her master's degree from Wright State University.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church, the Revs. Tim Smith and Daniel Wine officiating. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery.
Callng is 2-8 p.m. Sunday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys.
Memorials can be made to either First Church of the Nazarene or Agape Ministries.
