Verna Glass
Verna V. Glass, 89, 9130 state Route 197, Celina, died at 12:30 a.m. Sept. 19, 2007, at her residence.
She was born Sept. 13, 1918, in Mercer County, to Joseph and Margaret Houser Now. Her first husband, Harry Preston, is deceased. On Sept. 28, 1957, she married John Edward Glass, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Dan (Rosalie Smalley) Preston, Rockwell, N.C.; a daughter, Barbara Reder, Celina; a sister, Dorothy Nottingham, Celina; four grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Deceased are a son-in-law, Jim Reder; three brothers, Cloyd, Floyd and Dale Now; and two sisters, Golda Jeffries and Bertha Now.
She retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, St. Marys. She was a 1936 graduate of the former Neptune High School and a member of Neptune Church of God.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. Bill Morman officiating. Burial is at Mercer Memory Gardens, Celina.
Calling is 9-11 a.m. Saturday at the church.
