* WHERE...St. Marys River at Rockford.
* WHEN...Until this afternoon.
* IMPACTS...At 13.0 feet, State Route 117 near Route 118 north of Rockford is water-covered and closed.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:40 AM EDT Sunday the stage was 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall slowly this afternoon, falling below flood stage later this evening. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

Trees are a form of ground support structure on islands. Wave action erodes the shore, weakens the root system and trees like this one, from an island just off Windy Point, topple into the lake. Another type of shoreline protection is riprap (large stones) seen in the foreground.
