* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:40 PM EDT Sunday the stage was 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.0 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

Ralph Stammen
Ralph R. "Cappy" Stammen, 78, 814 W. Vine St., Coldwater, died July 14, 2007, at his residence.
He was born Feb. 7, 1929, in New Weston, to John and Odelia Mader Stammen. On Sept. 30, 1950, he married Charlyn Rammel, who survives.
Surviving are five sons, Mike (Judy), Tucson, Ariz., Tony (Mary), Coldwater, Chris (Tina), Rochester Hills, Mich., John (Barb), Cincinnati, and Gary (Dena), Coldwater; four daughters, Jane (Dave) Walsh, Reading, Mass., Sue (Jim) Kahlig, Coldwater, Nancy (Pat) Klenke, St. Henry, and Amy (Dan) Dirksen, Celina; two brothers, Don (Ginny), Dayton, and Paul (Shirley), Sun City, Fla.; two sisters-in-law, Lou Ann, St. Henry, and Hazel, Florida; a brother-in-law, Marvin Link, Vandalia; 25 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two brothers, Orville and Dan; and a sister, Mildred Link.
He was an agent with Columbus Life Insurance Co. and a chartered life underwriter, receiving this designation in 1973. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Council 1991, both of Coldwater, Mercer County Elks Lodge 2170, West Central Life Underwriters Association, where he was a former president, and the Million Dollar Roundtable.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. Richard Walling officiating. Burial is at St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Tuesday and 9-10 a.m. Wednesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.
