Hundreds of special needs kids and adults gathered Wednesday along Grand Lake for the annual special kids fishing derby sponsored by the nonprofit Lake Improvement Association (LIA) and Grand Lake St. Marys State Park. Volunteers from the LIA and state park provide a free lunch and cookies for all those attending, free fishing poles and bait for the day and help the anglers bait hooks and take fish off. The kids also get to take home free Polaroid pictures to remember the day.
