Dorothy Scifres
Celina native Dorothy M. Scifres, 84, 11457 60 Terrance North, Seminole, Fla., died at 6:55 a.m. Feb. 10, 2007, at her residence.
She was born June 17, 1922, in Celina, to Van and Mattie Smith Ballinger. On Oct. 18, 1953, she married Glen Scifres, who died March 17, 1996.
Surviving are a daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Roberts, Celina; a brother, Bill Ballinger, Celina; four grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a son, John J. Roberts; two brothers, Paul and Jack Ballinger; and two sisters, Helen Kirwin and Mercedes Schindler.
She was formerly employed at Schindler's Drug Store, Celina. A Celina High School graduate, she was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Celina.
Services are 2 p.m. Saturday at Lehman-Hogenkamp-Dzendzel Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Dave Dennis officiating. Burial is at Swamp College Cemetery, Celina.
Calling is 4-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
