Teaching with banana splits

Sydney Howell works feverishly to tear a stem from the maraschino cherry she took off the banana split she made. She was among students at Graceland Preschool in Celina observing National Banana Split Day on Thursday. Teacher Carolyn Highley used the day to teach her students about sequence, letters and sounds.
