An ethanol plant being constructed just outside Portland, Ind., is scheduled for completion this summer and is expected to produce 120 million-gallon-per-year (MGPY). It is a much larger facility than the ethanol plant to be constructed along U.S. 33 between Celina and St. Marys. When completed, the Portland project will utilize 42 million bushels of corn and produce 356,000 tons of premium Dakota Gold Enhanced Nutrition Distillers Products. The Celina plant is expected to utilize 18 million bushels of corn and produce 50 MGPY.
