* WHEN...Until this afternoon.
* IMPACTS...At 13.0 feet, State Route 117 near Route 118 north of Rockford is water-covered and closed.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:40 AM EDT Sunday the stage was 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall slowly this afternoon, falling below flood stage later this evening. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

Dennis Poppe

Dennis Poppe, 60, 5409 Tama Road, Celina, died at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 12, 2006, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima. Death was due to cancer.

He was born Feb. 5, 1946, in Celina, to Adrian Donald and Bessie Hoenie Poppe. His mother survives in Bay City, Mich. His fiance of 30 years, Shirley Endicott, also survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Dion (Sarah), Decatur, Ind., Donald (Rachel), Tallahassee, Fla., and Darren (Dianna), Rockford; two daughters, Belinda Perin, Montezuma, and Beverly (Stewart) Kellermeyer, Mendon; two sisters, Charlott (Ronald) Gray, Celina, and Tonda Sill, Russell; and 10 grandchildren.

Deceased is a daughter, Connie Bollenbacher.

He was a truck driver.

Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Arvid Harklau officiating. Burial is at Mercer Memory Gardens, Celina.

Calling is 5-8 p.m. Friday and after 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
