Wilma Knapke
Wilma E. Knapke, 81, 5555 Wabash Road, Coldwater, died at 8:30 p.m. Oct. 24, 2006, at Celina Manor Nursing Home.
She was born May 6, 1925, in Wendelin, to Stephen and Elizabeth Miller Wendel. On April 23, 1949, she married Louis Knapke, who survives.
Also surviving are six sons, Roger (Vicky), Coldwater, Jerry (Mary Ann) and Denny (Zee), all of Celina, and Mark (Cindy), Dino (Carol), and Jim (Carol), all of Fort Recovery; a daughter, Marilyn (Dan) Schmitz, Fort Recovery; a sister, Rita Elking, New Bremen; three sisters-in-law, Leona Wendel, Wendelin, and Francie and Viola, both of Coldwater; 30 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are three brothers, Al, Ray and Adolph Wendel; six sisters, Theresia Beumer, Mary Roeckner, Ida Pease, Alma Kaiser, Alvina Laux and Molly Timmerman; and a grandchild.
She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church and its Christian Mothers Sodality.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. Charles Mullen officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Sunday and 9-9:45 a.m. Monday at Brockman & Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery.
