Burning mulch
Photo by Laura Walker/The Daily Standard

Firefighters tackle burning mulch at Brookside Trucking along U.S. 127 on Wednesday. Departments from St. Henry, Chickasaw, Burkettsville, Osgood, Coldwater and Montezuma shuttled water to the site, with Celina also responding. Three Mercer County Emergency Response Volunteers aided by closing U.S. 127 for several hours. No damage was reported. The apparent cause is a nail that went through the chipper and caused a spark, St. Henry Fire Chief Ron Ontrop said.
