|   For the longest possible period of enjoyment from your Easter lily, follow these simple guidelines when purchasing the holiday plant: ´ Choose a lily with one or two open or partly open blooms and three or more "puffy" unopened buds of different sizes. ´ Make sure the foliage is a dark, rich green color, indicating a healthy plant. The foliage should appear dense and plentiful all the way down to the soil line. ´ Remove the yellow anthers inside the bloom before the pollen starts to shed. This gives longer flower life and prevents pollen from staining the white flowers, or worse, your carpet. ´ When mature blooms begin to whither, cut them off to make the plant more attractive. ´ Never over water; water your Easter lily at similar intervals to other house plants about every 5 to 7 days. -- Shelley Grieshop Purchase this as a quality photograph | ||||||||
